The 2024 GW Athletics Buff & Blue Fund Challenge was a tremendous success, with the department raising more than $560,000 from 1,500-plus donors to support GW student-athletes. The total funds raised is a record number for the annual campaign.
"On behalf of GW's 400 student-athletes and 20 varsity sports, we extend our deepest gratitude to the more than 1,500 faithful who made this year's Challenge the best ever," said Director of Athletics Michael Lipitz. "We hope your commitment inspires others to also invest in GW student-athletes by making a gift to the Buff & Blue Fund for their favorite sport."
The Buff & Blue Fund Challenge was made possible through the philanthropic effort of GW 1732 Circle member and wrestling alumnus Rich DiPippo, BA '79, who provided additional funding that will be distributed to the various winning programs.
"I am excited for the amazing results we had in this year's Buff & Blue Fund Challenge, especially the historic dollar amount we received for our teams," said Rich DiPippo, CCAS '79. "I hope this inspires more of our community to engage and donate to our programs, to achieve success together, I know we can do more. Raise High!"
