Men’s Soccer Thwarted at Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio - The George Washington University men's soccer team (2-8-1, 0-3-0 A-10) was defeated at Dayton (5-1-2, 1-0-1 A-10) on Saturday night, 7-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
5TH MINUTE: Dayton's Melto Quiah opened the scoring early, converting on a center from Hjalti Sigurdsson.
24TH MINUTE: Andrew Armstrong doubled the lead after scoring on a rebound. The original shot was from Cooper Lijewski who earned an assist on the play.
25TH MINUTE: Moments later, a Flyer cross hit the heel of a GW defender, bouncing to Martin Bakken who finished for a score.
31ST MINUTE: Bakken found the back of the net again after receiving a cross from Miles Bonham.
65TH MINUTE: GW was awarded a PK as Nico Medina was clipped inside the box. Will Turner took the PK, which was saved by Dayton's goalkeeper, but the rebound went right back to Turner who tucked home GW's first goal.
71ST MINUTE: A shot by Geni Kanyane rang off the post and deflected off the back of GW's outstretched goalkeeper and in.
73RD MINUTE: Armstrong headed in a corner kick for a goal. The corner was sent in by Bakken.
77TH MINUTE: Bakken scored his third goal of the match, assisted by Dikko Adebayo.
