WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball faces a quick turnaround as it reunites with local rival George Mason on MLK Jr. Day for the third-straight year with a 2 p.m. tip on CBS Sports Network. Monday's game is presented by the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences as part of their bicentennial celebration.

Through three A-10 games, GW has dealt with an eye-popping 37 ties and 59 lead changes, plus two overtime games. In 13 non-conference games, GW had a total of 32 ties and 42 lead changes.
91% of GW's second halves and overtimes (72:34 of 80 minutes) in A-10 play have been played within a one-possession margin. Under Coach Caputo, GW is a perfect 5-0 this season, and 11-4 in the last two years in games decided by five points or less.
WORKING EXTRA
GW improved to 3-1 this season, and 7-1 under Coach Caputo in overtime games with its win over Davidson on Saturday. The four overtime games tie a program record and are tied for the most in the NCAA this year. GW has played in eight over the last two years, tied for second-most in the country (Kansas State, 9).
GW has already played a pair of multi-overtime games this season (2OT vs. Ohio, 3OT vs. Fordham) and has played at least one multi-OT game in four of the last five seasons. The seven overtime sessions is already the most in program history for a single-season and the most in the nation this season.

A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS
George Mason has lost back-to-back games to VCU (54-50) and Richmond (77-70) to enter the week 2-2 in league play. The Patriots are under the direction of first-year head coach Tony Skinn, who played for GW head coach Chris Caputo at George Mason from 2003-06, including a trip to the 2006 Final Four.
UNLV transfer Keyshawn Hall has been the catalyst for the Patriots, leading the team with 16.5 ppg and 9.3 rpg. Virginia Tech transfer Darius Maddox has chipped in 13.2 ppg on 40.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Maddox appeared in three games against Coach Caputo while at Miami, averaging 10.3 ppg.
The Patriots have played the slowest tempo in the league so far during A-10 play at just 62.3 possessions per game. More than half of Mason's scoring (52.9%) has come inside the arc vs. A-10 foes. GMU has prided itself on the defensive end, ranking seventh in the NCAA in 2-point FG% defense (42.6%), 13th in the nation in overall FG% defense (38.7%), and 48th in scoring defense (65.5 ppg).
