WASHINGTON - A 16-8 win over Johns Hopkins highlighted the week for GW water polo, who finished its recent stretch of games at 1-2 against MAWPC opponents. The Revolutionaries beat Johns Hopkins on Friday night, sweeping the season series against the Blue Jays, but fell to two ranked opponents, in No. 18 Fordham and No. 19 Navy. The Buff and Blue move to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in the MAWPC.
Navy 15, GW 6
GW's second road match in the MAWPC proved to be a tough one, as the Revolutionaries fell to the 19th ranked Midshipmen in Annapolis, Md., 15-6, on Thursday night.
Navy jumped out to a quick lead, leading 4-1 after the first quarter. The Midshipmen continued to grow the gap in the second quarter and headed into halftime with a 10-2 lead. The Midshipmen held GW at bay with a 5-4 advantage in the second half on its way to the 15-6 win.

GW 16, Johns Hopkins 8
GW's second-ever match at the Long Bridge Park Aquatic Center ended just as the first did - with a Buff and Blue win over Johns Hopkins. The Revolutionaries dominated the Blue Jays on Friday evening, beating Johns Hopkins for the second time in a week with a final score of 16-8.
The Revolutionaries led 4-3 after the first quarter before finding their legs and outscoring Johns Hopkins 4-1 in the second frame. The Buff and Blue led 8-4 to start the third quarter and continued to pour it on offensively in the second half, extending their lead to five goals after three quarters and finishing off the Blue Jays.
Mateus Stellet finished with a game-high five goals, just two goals shy of his season high. Andrija Sekulic and Kai De Orbeta each contributed three goals, a career-high mark for De Orbeta. Goalkeeper Luca Castorina put together a solid performance in net, making 16 saves and adding one assist.
Fordham 18, GW 6
GW jumped out to a 2-0 lead against Fordham, but the Rams showed why they are the 18th ranked team in the country and came back to win, 18-6, at the Smith Center on Saturday.
GW's two-goal advantage didn't last long as Fordham stormed back with seven unanswered goals. Fordham led 10-3 at halftime and GW wasn't able to shrink the deficit in the second half, before eventually falling, 18-6.
Leo Lueddemann and Viktor Jovanovic paced GW with two goals apiece.
