Men's Basketball Unveils 2023-24 Non-Conference Schedule

WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball will tip-off year two under head coach Chris Caputo on Monday, November 6 vs. Stonehill, it was announced on Monday as the Revolutionaries unveiled their complete 2023-24 non-conference schedule.
GW fans will have a multitude of opportunities to see the Buff & Blue in the Charles E. Smith Center this season with 18 total home games, including nine Atlantic 10 matchups with times and dates to be announced at a later date.
GW's opener with Stonehill, the first matchup in program history against the Skyhawks, begins a season-opening, four-game homestand that continues on Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. William & Mary. GW is 39-26 all-time against the Tribe, but the two programs have met just once since 2003.
Hofstra then visits D.C. on Tuesday, Nov. 14 for the first time since the 2016 NIT as the return game of a home-and-home series that began last year. The homestand wraps up with New Hampshire visiting Foggy Bottom on Saturday, Nov. 18 after the Buff & Blue dispatched the Wildcats, 75-54, last season.
As previously announced, the Revolutionaries will spend Thanksgiving in the Bahamas with three games from Friday, Nov. 24 - Sunday, Nov. 26 as part of the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship, beginning with a contest vs. Ohio.
December opens up with the lone true road game of the non-conference slate, a trip to South Carolina on Friday, December 1 for a reunion with the Gamecocks. GW topped the SEC foe by 24 points in a raucous atmosphere last season.
GW will then spend the remainder of the month at home, beginning with a trio of local foes in Navy (Tuesday, Dec. 5), Coppin State (Saturday, Dec. 9) and Bowie State (Tuesday, Dec. 12). Navy's visit to Foggy Bottom will be the first for the Midshipmen since 1983. The programs have met twice on a neutral floor since and GW visited Annapolis in 2020.
Following a break for final exams, the Buff & Blue will square off with Alcorn State (Thursday, Dec. 21) for the first time in program history before hosting Maryland Eastern Shore (Saturday, Dec. 30) to round out the slate. GW is a perfect 7-0 all-time against the Hawks, including a 69-64 triumph last season at the Smith Center.
