
Kohn, Kahler Earn A-10 All-Conference Nods

Buff & Blue represented on first and second teams
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Michael Kohn and Chris Kahler of the GW baseball team were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, it was announced on Wednesday. Kohn earned first team honors as a designated hitter while Kahler made the second team as a pitcher.
Kohn made his lone year in the Buff & Blue count by extending GW's streak of having at least one First Team All-Conference honoree to eight consecutive years. The grad transfer from Quinnipiac started all 55 games for GW, hitting .333 with 17 doubles, 11 home runs, 45 RBI and 50 runs scored. The 17 doubles were second on the team and sixth-best in the A-10.
Kohn led GW in runs scored and home runs in addition to pacing the squad in slugging percentage (.586) and ranking second in total bases (116).
Kahler was a workhorse on the hill for the Buff & Blue, finishing second in the A-10 with a 3.57 ERA and leading the conference with a 1.19 WHIP. He also topped the league and was tied for sixth in the country with three complete games and was fourth in the loop with 79 punchouts. The Coral Springs, Fla., native was twice named A-10 Pitcher of the Week during the year after back-to-back, complete-game gems.
Overall, Kahler finished the season with a 4-3 mark in 14 games (13 starts). He logged 85.2 innings, second-most in the A-10 behind teammate Logan Koester, with the 79 punchouts against just 25 walks and a .241 average against.
