Buff & Blue also wins Class of 1998 Cup in season opener

FAIRFAX STATION, Va. - GW women's rowing began its season on Sunday morning with a clean sweep of Georgetown and George Mason in the annual George's Cup. GW won all four events to win the points battle with the Hoyas and Patriots.

GW also claimed the Class of 1998 Cup by virtue of its win over Georgetown in the Varsity 8. The Colonials topped the Hoyas by eight seconds, posting a time of 7:09.2.

GW's 2V8 topped Georgetown by 10.7 seconds in the 2V8 with the 3V8 finished third in the heat. The Buff & Blue also eked out a win by 0.5 seconds in the V4 over the Hoyas and cruised to a 18.9-second win in the 2V4.
