Bishop Named to NABC All-District First Team

Senior guard serves as GW's first honoree since 2017
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Â GW senior guard James Bishop IV was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 4 First Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. Bishop is the Buff & Blue's first honoree since 2017 and first Colonial on the First Team since 2006.
Also a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, Bishop finished the season 12th in the country in scoring at 21.6 ppg. He was also third in the A-10, and 35th nationally, with 5.2 assists per game. In the process, he was one of just three players in the country to average over 21 points and five assists per game this year, and the first to do so in the A-10 since 2003.
Bishop's incredible season featured the third-most points in a single campaign in GW history (691) with the eighth-best scoring average. His 240 made field goals rank fourth in GW single-season annals while his 165 assists are the fifth most all-time. The Baltimore native did so while playing the fourth-most minutes in school history (1,207) and the most minutes per game (37.7) ever.
