Tennis Concludes Weekend at Blue & Gold Invite

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Highlighted by a first-place B Flight doubles finish from Alejandra Ramirez and Solange Skeene, GW women's tennis wrapped its weekend at the Blue & Gold Invite at Navy on Sunday.
Stella Wiesemann and Victoria Sasinka and Gabriela Girlado and Madison Lee each made it to the finals in the doubles A Flight.
Giraldo topped Georgetown's Chloe Bendetti in the singles A Flight, 6-2, 6-4, before falling in the quarterfinals to William & Mary's Hedda Gurholt, 1-6, 4-6.
Wiesemann dropped her opening singles match in the A Flight to Villanova's Ami Grace Dougah, 4-6, 6-7.
Sasinka fell to William & Mary's Ine Stange, 1-6, 1-6, in the B Flight, and Lee won by default to Seton Hall's Aina Plana Ventosa before falling in the quarterfinals of the B Flight to Navy's Samantha Johns, 2-6, 4-6.
In the C Flight, Skeene dropped her singles match to Navy's Sylvia Eklund and Charlotte Bell fell to Navy's Manci Pal, 2-6, 3-6.
In the D Flight, Alejandra Ramirez fell to Villanova's Lauren Monti, 3-6, 0-6.
In the E Flight, Isabella Giraldo dropped her quarterfinals match to Villanova's Amanda Rivera, 0-6, 3-6. Rena Ishigushi won her quarterfinals matchup to Navy's Carly Mew, 6-3, 3-6, 10-4, before falling to Olivia Ashton of Georgetown in the finals, 4-6, 1-6.
