University to Reopen Events for Fans and Students on Sunday, January 30th
1/27/2022 2:28:00 PM | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Gymnastics
Dear GW fans,
The George Washington University will restore in-person activities, including welcoming back ticketed fans and students to Athletics events beginning Sunday, January 30th when men's basketball hosts Fordham at noon on national television.
While we understand the disappointment that the moratorium on fans since late December brought to our community, we are grateful for your understanding that the foremost priority was protecting the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, as well as guests to campus. We are now positively thrilled to welcome our fans back as our teams have greatly missed your loud and GW-proud support. There is nothing like a packed Smith Center.
In compliance with DC regulations and the citywide vaccine mandate for entertainment venues, fans ages 12-and-over entering the venue will need to show their proof of vaccination by one of the following methods:
* The CLEAR app, or VaxYes app on a mobile device
* Physical Center for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination card
* Digital copy of CDC vaccination card
There will be no on-site testing for fans 12-and-over. Fans ages 11-and-under can take a free Covid-19 rapid test to permit entrance at the lower gate #1 of the Smith Center. The city has also reinstated the indoor mask mandate and GW staff will be enforcing this policy for all events at the Charles E. Smith Center.
Excellent seats are still available for all remaining GW contests. Please contact the GW Ticket Office at 202-99-GWTIX or tickets@gwu.edu. Sunday's men's basketball game will have limited concessions offerings.
Thank you for your continued support of GW Athletics.
