Two newcomers earn singles victories for GW
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – In its first match of the spring season, the George Washington women's tennis team fell to Navy, 5-2, on Saturday morning.
First-year Stella Wiesemann and grad transfer Alexis Nelson secured two singles victories for GW. Wiesemann defeated Jillian Taggert in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Nelson defeated Kacey Moore, 7-6, (7-5), 6-4.
"It was good to finally be back out on the court after about a year," head coach Torrie Browning said. "We can take away some positives from this match and keep working to get better."
