Colonials venture to Queen City for first time since 2012
WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball hits the road for the final time in non-conference play and in 2021 as it visits Charlotte for a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday on ESPN+.
EN FUEGO: Junior James Bishop has found the scoring knack over the last six games, averaging 19.0 ppg following his 23-point performance vs. BU Wednesday. Bishop is shooting 48.6% from the floor and 33.3% from beyond the arc over the last six games compared to 20.9% and 15.7%, respectively, in the season's first three games.

Bishop has now led the Colonials in scoring in all six games during the hot streak, and has paced GW in 21 of his 26 career games. The Baltimore native scored 20 points in last year's game vs. Charlotte.
A WELL-ROUNDED THREAT EMERGES: Ricky Lindo Jr. continued to fill up the box score on Wednesday with eight points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, three steals and two assists in 33 minutes. Lindo leads the team in rebounds (7.8 per game), steals (1.9) and blocks (1.9) and is one of just three players in the country to average those numbers, along with Jackson State's Jayveous McKinnis (10.9 rpg / 2.7 bpg / 1.9 spg) and Furman's Jalen Slawson (8.6 rpg / 2.4 bpg / 2.3 spg). Lindo is the only player in the A-10 to rank among the league's top 10 in all three categories.
Additionally, Lindo has recorded three steals in three of the last five games and ranks 12th nationally among forwards with his 1.9 steals per contest.
A LOOK AT THE 49ERS: Charlotte enters on a three-game skid after opening the season at 3-0 for the first time since 2016. Most recently, the 49ers lost to A-10 foe Davidson in the annual Battle for the Hornets Nest. Ron Sanchez guides Charlotte in his fourth season at the helm of the program, having brought in the top-ranked recruiting class in C-USA each year.
The 49ers are led by 2020 C-USA Freshman of the Year and 2021 First Team All-Conference honoree Jahmir Young, who is averaging 18.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 4.5 apg through the first six games of the year. Clyde Trapp adds 11.2 ppg and 6.3 rpg.
