Beyond the Bio: Kiana Quolas
7/20/2020 10:59:00 AM | Softball, My GW: Celebrating our Stories
Welcome back to Beyond the Bio, where we'll get to know more about the people behind the scenes at GW Athletics.
Â
In this edition, we learn about Kiana Quolas, who is entering her third year with the Buff & Blue as the assistant softball coach.
Â
When I'm not working, my favorite thing to do is?
Traveling to different MLB ballparks to watch games. A bucket list item for me is to visit all MLB ballparks. As of now, I have crossed off 18 with some of my favorites being Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox), Petco Park (San Diego Padres), PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates), Camden Yards (Baltimore Orioles) and of course, Nats Park (Washington Nationals).Â
Â
If I was an animal, I would be?
I would say any one of the Big Cats. When they walk around they are full of composure, but they're ferocious when they hunt.
Â
If I could only eat one meal for every meal for the rest of my life, it would be?
This is tough because I really enjoy eating/trying different foods and flavors. I will go with Chicken, Rice and Veggies. I could spice up the chicken different ways or use a different cooking appliance (bbq, stove, air fryer, etc.) to make it seem like a different meal each time.
My favorite place I've ever been is?
Our trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, this past year was amazing. You can't beat ballin' at the beach!
Â
If I could have coffee with anybody in the world, living or historical, he/she would be?
I would love to have coffee with Alicia Keys.
Â
The one job in GW Athletics I'd like to do for a day is?
I'd like to coach a different sport for a day. I respect what all of our coaches do and would love to step into a day in the life of another sport!
The person I'm most inspired by is?
My parents! They are the greatest inspiration and support system. They taught me how to create and accomplish goals, work hard, respect others and walk in my faith by setting that example for me and my brother, Tyson. They helped shape me into the woman that I am today, and I am so grateful for them!Â
My favorite book, movie, TV show or podcast is?
Book: 3D Coach by Jeff Duke
Movie: Batman Trilogy (Batman Begins, Dark Knight & Dark Knight Rises)
TV Show: Schitt's Creek
My top #OnlyAtGWÂ moment was?
Getting recognized as A-10 champs on GW Night at Nats Park and being able to walk on the field with our team. Part two of the #OnlyAtGW Championship Festivities was when we presented the championship rings to our players at the National Mall.
If I could be granted the gift of elite athleticism, I'd like to be able to?
Outside of the softball/baseball world (and pitching overhand 100+ mph), I would love to be able to do a floor routine in gymnastics.
