Colonials play three more games on weekend
LEWISBURG, Pa. - George Washington women's water polo opened the Bucknell Invitational on Friday night, dropping an 11-4 decision to La Salle at Kinney Natatorium.
The contest was tied 3-3 after the opening quarter before the Explorers pulled away by holding the Colonials to just one score the rest of the way.
Alana Ponce scored two goals to pace GW, while Kira Bruno notched a goal and two assists. Marina Daroca Bazán also scored for the Buff and Blue.
Mackenzie Matheny totaled eight saves vs. the Explorers.
COMING UP: The Colonials have three more games coming at Bucknell, starting with a Saturday doubleheader vs. Salem University (2 p.m.) and Saint Francis (Pa.) (7 p.m.).
