Lacrosse to Face Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday

Colonials look to notch first victory of 2020
LEADING OFF: The George Washington lacrosse team is set to continue its season-opening road swing on Saturday, heading to Emmitsburg, Md., to face Mount St. Mary's. Opening draw is set for 11 a.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials dropped their season opener at Temple, 17-8, on Saturday. The pair of Caroline Kiernan and Kendall Lambert paced the squad with two goals apiece, while keeper Megan Patrick anchored the Colonials in her first career start between the pipes, making 12 saves.
BUFF & BLUE DEBUT: Kianah Watson, Amber Germer and Lizzie Heyn all made their first appearances in the Buff and Blue in Philadelphia. Watson earned the start in her collegiate debut, registering one ground ball and one draw control.
SPREADING THE WEALTH: Six Colonials found the back of the net in GW's season opener at Temple. In addition to the two-goal efforts from Kiernan and Lambert, Morgan McDonnell, Catie Perkins, Katie Quinn and Maddy O'Brien scored one apiece.
ABOUT THE MOUNT: Mount St. Mary's will make its 2020 debut when it hosts the Colonials on Saturday. The Mount was selected to finish second in the Northeast Conference preseason poll. The Mountaineers return seven 30+ point scorers on offense from last year's squad, including Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Year Jordan Butler (60g, 18a) and NEC Rookie of the Year Jordan Groover (25g, 16a).
ROAD AHEAD: The Colonials will wrap their season-opening road swing on Saturday, Feb. 22 when they head to Durham, N.C., to face Duke at 1 p.m.
