Colonial of the Week: Sierra Lange of Softball
11/2/2020 3:55:00 PM | General, Softball
Name:Â Sierra Lange
Sport:Â Softball
Year:Â Redshirt Junior
Major:Â Organizational Science
Sierra Lange has been selected as Colonial of the Week for her excellence this fall, showcasing familiar form following a knee injury that sidelined her for the 2020 season.
A redshirt junior from Plano, Texas, Lange is back leading the Buff and Blue after securing All-Region and All-Conference First Team honors in 2019 while helping the program earn a share of its first Atlantic 10 title. The two-way standout ranked third nationally with 31 victories in the circle and made a difference offensively with a program-record 85 hits, good for a .411 batting average.
"The comeback Sierra has had from her ACL injury last year has been remarkable," head coach Shane Winkler said. "She has worked tirelessly to not only get back to where she was in 2019, but to become even better. She's now faster, stronger and more explosive, and it's showing at the plate and in the circle. She was already one of the best overall players in the A-10, and now she'll be ready to make an even bigger impact. We couldn't be more excited to have her back leading us."
My favorite course I've taken at GW is...
Psychosocial Aspects of Health & Illness.
After graduation I hope to...
travel abroad.
A little piece of home that I've brought with me to GW is...
photos of my family to hang up in my dorm.
I appreciate my teammates because...
we have this unique bond that allows us to be unapologetically ourselves.
This semester I am Raising High by...
finding ways to stay connected with the GW community while practicing safe social distance protocols.
