Colonials Travel West To Face Saint Louis on Wednesday

WASHINGTON — After a loss to St. Bonaventure to open A-10 play on Sunday, GW gets back on the floor in St. Louis for a clash with the Billikens on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET. Fans can follow along on ESPN+ and the TuneIn app.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials dropped their first conference game of the season to St. Bonaventure, 71-66. First-year forward Jamison Battle finished with a season-high 20 points and was one of four Colonials in double figures. Amir Harris (11 points) made his first start as a Colonial and stuffed the stat sheet with seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Maceo Jack hit double figures for the fifth straight game with 11 points, and Armel Potter dropped 11 points and a team-high eight assists. GW led 30-28 at the half, but a Bobby Planutis jumper with 11:10 left broke a 43-43 tie and the Bonnies the led the rest of the way.
ABOUT SAINT LOUIS: The Billikens enter Wednesday's home game against GW as winners of four of their last five contests, including an overtime win over UMass to even out their A-10 record on Sunday. Saint Louis won eight of its first nine games to open the season with highlighted victories over Boston College, Kansas State and Belmont.
Jordan Goodwin leads the Billikens this season in points (15.1) and rebounds (10.8) and has accumulated seven double-doubles. Goodwin has reached double figures in all but one game as a junior with a season-best of 22 points against Valparaiso.
Another offensive threat for the Billikens is 6-7, 245-pound forward Hasahn French, who is also averaging a double-double (13.4 ppg and 10.1 rpg). French is coming off a 19-point, 13-rebound performance against UMass. Gibson Jimerson (10.8 ppg) and Javonte Perkins (10.3 ppg) also average double figures for SLU.
SERIES HISTORY: Saint Louis leads the all-time season series 10-9 and is riding a three-game winning streak over the Colonials. Last season, the Billikens used a second-half attack to defeat GW, 73-58, at the Smith Center. Tied at 31 at the half, SLU took a 60-50 lead on a 22-8 spurt late in the second half en route to a 15-point victory.
JACKPOT: Maceo Jack has scored in double digits in seven straight games and is averaging 11.2 ppg during the span. A 3-point shooter, Jack has connected on 21 opportunities from the outside during the seven-game streak.
SKOL VIKINGS!: Minnesota native Jamison Battle dropped a season-best 20 points against St. Bonaventure and has now hit at least one 3-pointer in 14 consecutive games to begin his collegiate career. Battle is also the lone Colonial to make a field goal in every game this season.
THE WIZARDRY OF ARMEL POTTER: Armel Potter dished out eight assists in the Atlantic 10 opener against the Bonnies after being held to one dime against Vermont. The redshirt senior has achieved two double-doubles this year with 22 points and 10 assists vs. Harvard and a 13-point, 12-assist performance against Longwood. Potter has 6+ assists in eight games this year.
FIRST TIMERS CLUB: Amir Harris and Chase Paar earned starting roles against St. Bonaventure on Sunday. Playing in just his third game as a Colonial, Harris finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 36 minutes, while Paar played 13 minutes and finished with four points and three rebounds.
