Track & Field Announces Indoor & Outdoor Schedule

Colonials open indoor season on Jan. 18 at Maryland
WASHINGTON - GW track & field head coach Terry Weir announced the team's indoor and outdoor slate for the 2020 campaign on Friday with 20 events on tap over the next four months.
The Colonials will open the indoor campaign at the Terrapin Invitational in two weeks' time, Jan. 18 in Landover, Md. GW will then make the quick trip to George Mason for the Patriot Games the following weekend.
February features back-to-back competitions in Lexington, Va., hosted by Virginia Military Institute, as well as a select group heading to Boston the weekend of Feb. 14 for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
The 2020 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Rhode Island, closes the campaign from Feb. 29 - March 1.
The outdoor season begins on March 21 at the Penn Challenge in Philadelphia, one of two trips for the team to the City of Brotherly Love, the other being for the Penn Relays on April 23-25.
The Buff & Blue will split the team over the next three weekends of competition, beginning with the Raleigh Relays and Maryland Invite on March 27-28. After a week off, GW will take part in the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell, and the Mason Spring Invitational on April 10-11.
The Colonials will then be spread among three competitions the weekend of April 17-18, competing at Princeton, Virginia and Johns Hopkins.
Championship season rolls around in May with the Atlantic 10 Championships at Massachusetts on May 2-3. GW is also scheduled to compete in the Swarthmore Last Chance on May 11 and IC4A/ECAC Championship on May 16 to help qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary in Lexington, Ky., on May 28.
