GW Fans to Attempt World Record at the Smith Center on Wednesday

WASHINGTON — The #RevolutionaryRivalry revs up on Wednesday at the Smith Center as GW Athletics will attempt to set a world record for the largest gathering of people wearing tricorn hats at once.
The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a free tricorn hat.
"We are excited to have this opportunity to bring the GW community together and break a world record on Wednesday," said Kate Southall, Director of Marketing, Strategy, and Fan Engagement. "Tricorn Hat Night is a great way to continue our rivalry with George Mason while also getting our students and fans ready for exciting basketball down the stretch."
An hour before the 7 p.m. contest between GW and George Mason, a pregame tailgate with free food for students will take place at Potomac Square.
Once inside the Smith Center, fans are encouraged to wear their tricorn hats at the start of the first half's under-12 media timeout for the world-record attempt.
GW will also be collecting donations for the victims of the Australian wildfires with a Miracle Minute during the under-8 media timeout.
