Women's Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team

Six Colonials earn individual accolades
WASHINGTONÂ -- The George Washington women's tennis squad earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team recognition for the 2018-19 season. Additionally, Melis Bayraktaroglu, Xenia de Luna, Sara Grubac, Victoria Kogan, Katarina Marinkovikj and Maria Siopacha achieved ITA Scholar-Athlete status.Â
The Colonials earn ITA Academic Team honors for the eighth consecutive season and were named GW's Female Academic Team of the Year for the fourth straight year at the eighth annual Georgey Awards after posting a team GPA of 3.58 during the 2018-19 academic year.Â
The All-Academic Team award is presented to any ITA program that has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or above. Individually, student-athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the academic year to qualify for the Scholar-Athlete award.
