Lange continued to lead GW softball at the plate and in the circle last week, helping the Colonials to a 4-1 mark, including an Atlantic 10 sweep at St. Bonaventure.
The sophomore from Texas started all five games for the Colonials last week, posting a 1.69 ERA over 29 innings with 28 strikeouts against five walks. She closed the week with a pair of four-hit shutouts to improve to 23-10 this spring and lower her ERA to 2.47.
In addition to an excellent pitching week, Lange paced the Buff and Blue offensively, posting a .500/.600/.750 slash line. The nation's leader in hits, she had hits in all five games, going 8-for-16 with three extra-base hits, five RBIs and seven runs scored, plus four walks and three stolen bases.
Lange's best offensive performance came in a win over George Mason on Wednesday when she equaled the program record with four hits, including an RBI double that finished a 9-1 win in six innings. She also pitched four innings in that one, yielding just a run on two hits to earn the victory.
Lange's top pitching effort came in last Friday's series finale when she posted nine strikeouts to shut out St. Bonaventure in a 2-0 win. She retired 13 of the final 14 batters that she faced, ending the game with her 186th strikeout of the season to tie Amanda Gabriel's program record.
For the season, Lange leads the A-10 in hits (75), batting average (.439), doubles (16), triples (6), wins (23), strikeouts (186), innings pitched (198) and complete games (23).
