Lacrosse to Host Robert Morris for Clash of the Colonials

GW set for 1 p.m. draw on Saturday
OPENING DRAW: With just three contests left on the non-conference slate, the George Washington lacrosse team is set to host Robert Morris at the GW Lacrosse Field on the Mount Vernon Campus for a 1 p.m. draw on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT:Â The Colonials made the short trip to Georgetown on Tuesday afternoon, falling 13-4 at Cooper Field. GW was the better squad off the draw, holding an 11-8 advantage, while the Hoyas led in ground balls (22-11) and shots (39-18). Sophomore keeper Jenna Oler played all 60 minutes, faced 30 shots and came up with a career-high matching 17 saves.

HAMPTON STAYS HOT: First-year Tori Hampton paces the squad with 13 points (10g, 3a). The Marlton, New Jersey, product tallied one goal at Georgetown on Tuesday, extending her goal streak to five. The attacker opened the 2019 season with back-to-back hat tricks and is the only first-year to start all five contests.Â

ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS: The Colonials enter the weekend with a 3-1 mark on the season after dropping Kent State (11-6) and Canisius (11-10) to open 2019. Robert Morris suffered its first loss to Liberty in a close 10-7 contest, but bounced back with a 13-10 victory over Bucknell over the weekend. Mackenzie Gandy paces the squad with 18 points (10g, 8a) while Katelyn Miller leads the team between the posts with her 8.83 GAA and 44 saves.

SERIES HISTORY: GW has come out on top in the Clash of the Colonials in both meetings, topping Robert Morris at home in 2017 (10-9) and again last season on the road (9-7).

ROAD AHEAD: The Colonials will split their final non-conference games on the road and at home. GW will first make the trip to Mount St. Mary's on March 13th for a 4 p.m. matchup before hosting Monmouth at the GW Lacrosse Field on March 16th at 1 p.m.
