Mazzulla Named to A-10 All-Academic Team

The Colonials have been represented on the team for eight straight years
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The GW men's basketball program extended its streak of having at least one student-athlete selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team to a league-best eight years as Justin Mazzulla earned the nod on Tuesday afternoon.
An organizational science major, Mazzulla carries a 3.41 GPA and has made the Athletic Department Dean's List in all three of his completed semesters at GW. The sophomore from Rhode Island is a team captain and a member of GW's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Leadership Academy.
On the court, he's the only Colonial to start every game this season, while he leads the team in assists (3.6/game) and steals (1.0/game). After averaging 2.6 points as a first-year he's contributing 9.0 this season, while scoring in double figures 15 times.
Mazzulla and the Colonials begin play in the Atlantic 10 Championship on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with a first-round game vs. Massachusetts.
