Women's Hoops Drops Third Spanish Exhibition

Colonials came up short vs. Slovenian club
SANT JULIÀ de VILATORTA, Spain -- George Washington women's basketball kicked off the final leg of its foreign trip to Spain on Monday evening, falling 83-54 to seven-time defending Slovenian League champion ZKK Celje at Pavelló Esportiu Municipal.
The Colonials started their first full day in Barcelona with a bus tour, including a stop at the Olympic Stadium that hosted the 1992 Games, before traveling to face the decorated professional club from Slovenia.
Kelsi Mahoney paced the Buff and Blue with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Sydney Zambrotta chipped in nine points, while Lexus Levy added eight in the exhibition.
Following wins in Madrid and Valencia, GW sits at 2-1 for the trip, heading into its Spain finale on Tuesday. The Colonials face off against ZKK Celje again before making the journey back to Foggy Bottom on Thursday.
