Women's Hoops Confirmed for 2018 Cancun Challenge

WASHINGTON - George Washington women's basketball has been confirmed for the 2018 Cancun Challenge over Thanksgiving, November 22-24, at the Hard Rock Hotel Riveria Maya on the Yucatan Peninsula.
The Colonials will compete in the six-team, two-game Mayan Division along with Georgia Tech, Michigan State, NC State, Idaho State and Kennesaw State. Pairings and schedule details will be announced later this month.
One of the premier basketball events each season, the Cancun Challenge was rated as a top-five preseason tournament by Sports Illustrated in 2014. Teams stay and compete at the Hard Rock Hotel Riveria Maya with the resort's convention center ballroom serving as the playing arena which provides fans a unique, close-up perspective.
