FAIRFAX, Va. â€" The George Washington women's tennis squad continued its dominance over Revolutionary Rival George Mason, sweeping the Patriots, 7-0, on Friday afternoon. The Colonials remain undefeated against George Mason (17-0) all-time with their third straight victory overall to improve to 4-1 in Atlantic 10 action.
In doubles play, the Colonials gave up just three combined points to the Patriots. Maria Siopacha and Melis Bayraktaroglu defeated their opponents at No. 1, 6-1, Marie-Louis Decamps and Julia Herlogsson blanked the George Mason pair at No. 2, and Sara Grubac and Victoria Kogan defeated the final duo at No. 3, 6-2.
GW continued its strong day in singles action, with all six Colonials winning their matches in straight sets.
