Colonials edged by VCU, 3-2, in A-10 Tournament quarterfinal
RICHMOND – The George Washington women's soccer team saw its 2018 season come to an end on Saturday evening, falling to VCU, 3-2, in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic 10 tournament at Sport Backers Stadium.
After an early strike from the Rams in the game's fourth minute, the Colonials bounced back with a goal from Sofia Pavon to tie it up at one apiece going into the break. VCU responded with a goal seven minutes into the game's second stanza and added another tally with eight minutes to play. Pavon continued to attack and was able to find the back of the net once again in the game's final minute, but it wasn't enough, as the Rams secured the 3-2 victory.
