WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis team fell to defending Atlantic 10 champion VCU on Sunday afternoon at the GW Tennis Center on the Mount Vernon Campus.
The Colonials (8-9) dropped the early doubles point before VCU swept singles action to take the match, 7-0.
Straight-set wins for VCU at Nos. 2, 3 and 5 singles clinched the match. The Colonials went on to push the Nos. 1 and 6 bouts to three sets, but ultimately fell.
