Women's Rowing Opens Spring Slate at Murphy Cup

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's rowing team will open its spring season on Saturday when it competes on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia at the 35th Annual Murphy Cup Regatta.
GW is appearing at the historic race for the fourth consecutive season and for the fifth time in the last six years.
The Colonials will send five boats to the event. The regatta begins with morning preliminaries followed by afternoon finals.
Last season the Colonials sent both the JV8 and the Novice 4 to the Grand Finals with the Novice 8 winning the gold medal.
The field includes many top crews out of the Atlantic 10 (UMass, Fordham, Saint Joseph's), ACC, CAA, Patriot League and AAC.
