Senior reliever Luke Olson pitched seven innings of shutout relief across two games this weekend as the Colonials earned a three-game sweep over Richmond at Tucker Field.
Olson started his weekend with three scoreless innings in GW's 8-7, 10-inning victory in the opener on Friday evening. He allowed just one hit with three walks and three strikeouts. The righty entered the game in a difficult spot with the bases loaded and no outs but escaped the jam to keep the deficit manageable before the Colonials prevailed in extra innings.
The Silver Spring, Maryland, native shined on Senior Day on Sunday, earning the win with four shutout innings out of the bullpen. He scattered three hits with three walks and four strikeouts as GW clinched the sweep with a come-from-behind 8-4 win.
