
GW Women's Tennis Wraps Season in A-10 Semifinal

MASON, Ohio - The seventh-seeded George Washington women's tennis squad fell to third-seeded Davidson in the semifinal round of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
The Colonials (8-15, 4-5 A-10) wrap the 2016 season after reaching the A-10 semifinal round for the second time in the last three seasons.
The Wildcats (18-5, 9-0 A-10) took an early, 1-0, lead after taking the doubles point with victories at the bottom two spots.
In singles action, freshman Sara Grubac tied the match with a dominating, 6-1, 6-0, victory in second-flight play, completing a perfect 3-0 week in Championship solo play while wrapping her maiden campaign with an 11-11 record.
The Wildcats regained the edge with a straight-set victory at the No. 5 position before taking two-set wins at the Nos. 1 and 6 spots to clinch the match.
For the second consecutive season, sophomore Teodora Radosavljevic finished the season with a team-high 19 solo victories, posting an overall 19-12 solo mark while serving as GW's top-flight player in dual match action. Classmate Marie-Louise Decamps ranks second on the squad with an overall 16-9 solo record.
