
GW Women's Tennis Concludes Regular Season on Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The George Washington women's tennis squad fell at Maryland in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at the Maryland Tennis Courts.
The Colonials (6-13, 2-4 A-10) battled in doubles play, but were unable to overcome the Terrapins (9-10). The nationally ranked No. 86 pair of Alexandra Stanova and Kristina Hovsepyan claimed a 6-3 victory at the top spot before GW fell in the final two matches.
In singles action, Maryland clinched the match with straight-set wins at the Nos. 3, 1, and 5 positions.
The Terrapins took their final straight-set win at No. 6 before sophomore Marie-Louise Decamps went the distance in fourth-flight bout but ultimately fell, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Freshman Sara Grubac also took her No. 2 foe to three-sets before dropping a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 decision.
The Buff and Blue will next compete at the Atlantic 10 Championship held from April 21-24 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
