Garino, Larsen Compete in PIT

PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- Patricio Garino and Kevin Larsen's teams opened play in the Portsmouth Invitational on Thursday, with Larsen's squad grabbing a close victory to move into a semifinal game on Friday evening.
The tournament showcases the nation's top seniors to scouts from the NBA and international leagues. In a starting role, Larsen scored six points and grabbed four boards in 23 minutes as K&D Rounds took a 91-90 win over Portsmouth Partnership. The team will play again Friday night at 9:00 for a ticket to the championship game.
Garino, also in a starting role, just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, and stuffed the stat sheet with four assists, two blocks and a steal in 29 minutes. His team, Portsmouth Sports Club, lost 77-66 and will play again Friday at 3:15 p.m.
