GW Women's Tennis Continues Success at Georgetown Classic

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis team competed in the Georgetown Classic on Friday afternoon against the Hoyas at Georgetown Visitation Prep and Morgan State at the GW Tennis Center on the Mount Vernon Campus.
Rookie Teodora Radosavljevic and sophomores Grace Egger and Allison Hansen all went unbeaten in singles on the day, while Radosavljevic and Egger also teamed up for a doubles victory.
"I am pleased with the overall play of our team this weekend," said second-year Head Coach Greg Munoz. "Teodora is undefeated through two tournaments and I am excited to see how far she can go. Marie-Louise is showing tremendous potential and a great fighting spirit, and Allison and Grace are both play aggressive yet steady tennis. I am happy and feel good about their development."
The Colonials opened the morning with a match against Georgetown. At No. 1 singles, Radosavljevic defeated Victoire Saperstein, 6-2, 6-3, and Egger earned a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Sophie Panarese at the No. 3 spot. Hansen then topped Casey Marx by scores of 6-3, 7-5, in the fourth flight. In doubles play, Egger and Radosavljevic topped Daphne De Chatellus and Taylor Perz in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (4).
At home against Morgan State, Radosavljevic continued her unbeaten streak with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Kayla Price at the top spot. Freshman Marie-Louise Decamps defeated Chelsi Russell, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 2 singles, and Egger downed Cierra Plummer, 6-4, 6-2, in the third flight. Hansen held a 6-1, 2-1 led over Riana Roberts in the No. 4 spot before Roberts retired.
GW returns to the courts on Saturday, Sept. 27 for the nine-day ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California.
