
GW Women's Tennis Falls to Liberty, 6-0

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - George Washington women's tennis dropped a 6-0 decision to Liberty on Friday afternoon at the indoor Hong Tennis Centre.
Due to limited court space, GW (0-3) and Liberty (4-2) began the match with singles play as opposed to doubles.
In No. 1 singles, sophomore Lana Robins fell to Rebekah Jenkins, 4-6, 4-6. Senior Leah Pascarella battled in a three-set tiebreaker at the No. 2 spot but ultimately fell to Maria Khval, 3-6, 6-4, 6-10. Rookie Allison Hansen dropped a 4-6, 0-6 decision to Belen Rivera in the third flight and classmate Grace Egger fell to Mariely Hassey, 3-6, 0-6, at No. 4.
Freshman Taylor Nederlander was edged in a tiebreaker by Nicola Wellman at the No. 5 spot by set scores of 7-5, 3-6, 12-14, and sophomore Christina Carpenter fell to Brittany Yang in the No. 6 match, 4-6, 1-6.
GW returns to action on Sunday afternoon in nearby Baltimore, with a 2 p.m. match at UMBC.
