George Washington's Varsity 8 posted the fastest time among nine crews in the morning heats of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
In the Grand Finals, GW led wire-to-wire and won by open water to clinch the third Varsity 8 gold medal in program history and the first one since 2006.
The Colonials finished in third place overall at the event with head coach Eric Carcich being named the conference's Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
Varsity 8: Coxswain Hayley Dannehower, Sarah Pickus, Amanda Young, Bethany Grim, Megan Culberson, Anna Kaminski, Annie Morse, Paige Norman and Christine Popp.
