In game one, the Colonials (0-7) held on to a two-run lead from the bottom of the first through the end of four, but South Carolina (10-3) tallied three runs in the top of the fifth and added another in the sixth to defeat the Buff and Blue, 4-2.
A Lauren Wilson single to left field and an Autumn Taylor two-run home run to left put GW up 2-0 in the first inning, but the squad was able to hold on to the advantage.

In the finale,
The Mountaineers opened the bottom of the first inning with five runs off of six hits to take an early lead. They added three more tallies off of four hits in the second to extend the lead to eight.
In the bottom of the second, after freshman Samantha Dos Santos walked,
Sophomore Courtney Martin took the loss in game two. Senior Heidi Penna made her first appearance of the season on the mound, striking out one and allowing two runs and three hits. Freshman Chelsey Pedley allowed one run and four hits in 4.2 innings while striking out three.
