Men's Basketball Adds Walk-on for 2010-11

WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington basketball coach Karl Hobbs has announced that Roy Ghantous has been added to the Colonials' roster as a non-scholarship player for the 2010-11 season.
Ghantous (pronounced "GAN-tose") is a 6-foot, 165-pound point guard from Walpole, MA. A sophomore at GW, he played scholastically at Dexter High School in Brookline, MA. As a high school senior, he averaged 11.0 points, 4.1 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals a game at Dexter under coach Scott Kinney. He was the team captain of his varsity basketball, lacrosse, swimming and football teams as a senior as well as a two-time MVP for his varsity swim team. He received the coach's award for excellence in determination and hard work for football and lacrosse. He was recruited by Springfield (MA) College to play Div. III basketball. He graduated summa cum laude and was president of the Environmental Club and Amateur Radio Club.
While at GW, he has been a member of the GW men's club basketball team and is majoring in biomedical engineering.
