2010 Colonials Run on the National Mall

WASHINGTON, DC - Watch out for those tourists. Here come the Colonials! The annual Colonials Run around the reflecting pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the World War II Memorial took place on Friday.
Members of the basketball team, university staff, students and alumni all took part in the run to mark the beginning of basketball on the GW campus.
Former GW Cross Country standout Colin Stevenson finished the course first just three seconds ahead of alumnus Keith Moody. Other winners were Alexandra Smargizssi, the first female student and Mandy Asgeirsson, the fastest alumna.
GW coach Karl Hobbs brought the festivities on the Mall to an end by asking the runners to huddle up and yell "GW" before the walk back to Veterans Park on Campus where he manned the grill during a cookout to cap off the day's events.
