Women's Tennis Falls to D-III Opponent, 5-4

ATLANTA - The George Washington University women's tennis team fell to Division III Emory, 5-4, Wednesday, two days after their match against Clayton State was cancelled due to rain. The loss drops the team to 4-5 on the season.
The Colonials started out with a decisive sweep of the top three singles flights by Nadia Demidenko, Jacqui Corba and Jennifer Hirsh. Emory battled back to take No. 4-6 flights to tie up the match.
In doubles, the GW duo of Nadia Demidenko and Jacqui Corba were victorious in their No. 1 doubles flight, 8-4, before Emory took the No. 2 and No. 3 match-ups to win the meeting, 5-4.
The Colonials host Atlantic 10 rival Xavier at home on Mar. 21, at 1:30 p.m.
