
Women's Tennis Falls at Duquesne, 6-1

PITTSBURGH, PA - George Washington University women's tennis lost at Duquense, 6-1, in an Atlantic 10 conference match Friday afternoon in Pittsburgh, PA. It was the fifth straight loss for the Colonials and dropped their overall record to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in A-10 play.
Duquesne captured the doubles point when they two of the three matches. GW's team of Tracy Stecko and Madhuri Jha, playing from the No. 3 position, won their match, 8-4, earning the lone GW victory in doubles play.
In the singles action, the Dukes took five of the six contests from the Colonials. Zena WIlliams, the No. 1 player, defeated Kendall Swenson in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. The only GW win came from junior Madhuri Jha, in the No. 6 position, in a tightly contested match, 6-7 (0-9), 6-1, 1-0 (10-8).
George Washington continues their spring schedule Friday, Mar. 14, when they host Towson University, at 12:00 p.m., at the Montclair Country Club, in Montclair, VA.
