Tonight's Home Opener:
• Tonight's game marks GW's home opener, the 32nd opener at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center where the Colonials are 27-4 in home openers.
• Tonight's game marks Dartmouth's first appearance at Smith Center.
• The only previous meeting between the teams came in the 1976-77 season opener when GW prevailed, 96-57, on Nov. 26, 1976 at the Spider Basketball Classic in Richmond.
• Dartmouth is picked to finish 8th in the eight-team Ivy League Preseason Media Poll.
• Dartmouth is playing its second straight A-10 opponent. The Big Green is coming off a 98-61 loss to UMass Saturday at Mullins Center.
• Dartmouth's starting line-up against UMass consisted of three sophomores, a junior and a senior.
• GW is coming off a 70-57 victory over Boston University on Friday. The Colonials shot 55.6% (25-45) from the field against the Terriers.
• Senior G Carl Elliott led GW in Boston with his career-high 25 points including 11-for-11 from the line. The co-captain also added five rebs., three assists and three steals.
• Sophomore F Rob Diggs also had a stong effort at BU with 12 points on 6-9 FGs, seven rebs. and two blocked shots.
• Both the GW men's and women's teams will be wearing a red strip on their uniforms throughout the season to honor the memory of the late Red Auerbach, a GW alumnus.
