
GW Women's Soccer Signs Six Recruits

Washington, DC - The George Washington University women's soccer program has signed six players to letters-of-intent for the 2005 season, head coach Tanya Vogel announced.
Joining the Colonials as freshmen this fall will be midfielder Stephanie Covello (Princeton, N.J./Princeton High School), defender Lauren Kelly (Oak Hill, VA/Bishop Denis O'Connell), defender/midfielder Kerry Philbin (Herndon, VA/Bishop Denis O'Connell), forward Meghan Pyle (Franklin Park, NJ/Mount St. Mary Academy), forward Simone Russo (New York, NY /Poly Prep Country Day School) and midfielder/forward Allison Sylvetsky (Niskayuna, NY/ Niskayuna High School).
"I am particularly excited to bring this class into the program we have developed here at GW," Vogel said. "Each one of our incoming freshmen brings outstanding qualities on and off the field. Their club and high school teams have exposed them to the highest levels of competition and, although there will be a short period of transition, we look for each one of them to contribute immediately."
