GW Freshmen Sweep Atlantic 10 Rookie Honors

WASHINGTON, DC - Freshmen Ryan Shaver (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) and Bridget Skeuse (Stockton, NJ/Immaculata) were each named Rookie of the Week, the Atlantic 10 announced on September 8, 2003.
Shaver, in his first collegiate race, finished sixth out of 51 runners at the Maryland Eastern Shore Lid Lifter on Saturday, September 6. He completed the 5.1 mile course in 27:51.47 and led the Colonials to a second place finish.
Skeuse, also in her first collegiate race, finished second out of 38 at the same race. She completed the Maryland Eastern Shore 3.1 mile course in 19:41.15, just seconds behind the race winner. Her performance helped the Colonials finish fourth on the day.
These two, along with the rest of the Colonials, will race again on Saturday, September 13, 2003 in Emmitsburg, MD at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational.
