LEWISBURG, PA - The GW Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic Track and Field meet at Bucknell University on Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13. Good weather and fast competition produced a number of outstanding times.
Junior Emily Jadwin (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) continued to add to her impressive season by dominating the women's competition with a team best 18:21 in the 5,000 meter run. Following close behind were sophomores Trina Bolton (Avondale Estates, GA/The Lovett School) in 18:27 and Erin Patton (Saline, MI/Saline) in 18:49.
In the 1500 meter run, freshmen Meghan Dunn (Clinton, NY/Clinton) and Olivia Schramm (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) led the Colonials. They finished back to back in this event with times of 5:07.8 and 5:08.2. Both Colonials ran personal best times.
On the men's side, standout junior Darrell Andruski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) made his debut in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. His impressive finish in 9:58.6 for this grueling event set a new GW record.
In other action, junior Dave Azari (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) took on a very competitive field in the Men's 5,000 meter run. He charged to a season best 15:20 as he continues his steady improvement.
