WASHINGTON, DC - Seniors Darrell Andruski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Dave Azari (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) were named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team on November 12, as voted by the league's sports information directors.
Andruski spent the beginning of the season dealing with a nagging injury but came on late to lead the Colonials in the last two races. He finished sixth at the Atlantic 10 Championships for the second year in a row. He is currently maintaining a 3.72 GPA in art history and was named to the Dean's List each of the last two semesters.
Azari also had an excellent year for the Colonials, finishing first for the team in four out of his six races. He was named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week twice during the season and won the Mount St. Mary's race on September 13. Azari currently has a 3.64 GPA, majoring in economics with a minor in statistics, and has been named to the Dean's List every semester of his college career.
The GW Cross Country team will be in action this Saturday, November 15, at the NCAA Regionals in Lock Haven, PA.
