Andruski and Azari Named Academic All-Conference

WASHINGTON, DC - Juniors Darrell Andruski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Dave Azari (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) were named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team on November 11, as voted by the league's sports information directors.
Andruski was leading runner for the Colonials this season, finishing first for the team in five of the six races he competed in. His season was highlighted by a second-place finish at the GW Invitational along with a sixth-place finish at the A-10 Championships, where he recorded the fastest Championship time by a GW runner in their 11 year participation in the event. He is currently maintaining a 3.64 GPA in art history and was named to the Dean's List each of the last two semesters.
Azari also had an excellent year for the Colonials, finishing second for the team in four out of his five races. He finished 17th out of 175 and first on the team at the Penn State Invitational and was named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week for his efforts. Azari currently has a 3.74 GPA in a double major of economics and applied sciences and has been named to the Dean's List every semester of his college career. This is Azari's second Academic All-Conference selection.
The GW Cross Country team will be in action this Saturday, November 16, at the NCAA Regionals in Canaan Valley, WV.
