Talbird Named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week
WASHINGTON, DC (Sept. 25, 2001) - George Washington junior David Talbird (Lookout Mountain, TN/McCallie School) has been named the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Performer of the Week. It is the first time this season a Colonial has won the honor.
Talbird, the team's MVP last season, finished 23rd out of 152 runners with a time of 26:52 at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational last Saturday, Sept. 22, in Emmitsburg, MD. Talbird's performance on Saturday followed an impressive fourth place finish at the Towson Invitational on Sept. 8.
Talbird will be back in action, along with the rest of the men's and women's teams, at the fifth annual GW Invitational at Bull Run Park in Centreville, VA. on Saturday, Sept. 29. The men's race begins at 10:00 a.m. and the women's race begins at 10:45 a.m.
