First, Bode Win at ODU

NORFOLK, VA (Oct. 7) - Sophomore Lindy First (San Diego, CA/La Jolla) and freshman Natasha Bode (Paradise Valley, AZ/Xavier) each captured their respective flights at the Old Dominion Women's Tennis Tournament, October 5-7, at Norfolk, VA. It marked First's second tournament victory this fall. She also won her flight at the Eastern Collegiate Tennis Championships, Sept. 21-23, at West Point, NY. First is undefeated this fall with an 7-0 singles record.
First won the B Flight by defeating Gina Ayala (Catawba), 6-1,6-3, Pauline Trinchant (Richmond), 6-3,7-6, Spencer Brown (James Madison), 6-1,6-1, and Julia Soritiu (Old Dominon), 6-3,7-5.
Bode captured the D Flight with victories over Shannon Gentry (North Carolina-Pembroke), 6-2,6-0, Kristin Daunhauer (Catawba), 6-0,6-1, and Laura Dickinson (Radford), 6-0,6-4.
Both First and Nazli Genscoy (Istanbul, Turkey/Lyree de Galatasaray) will represent GW at the Omni Invitational Oct. 27-28, at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Next up for the Colonials is the ECAC Championships, Oct. 12-14, at Princeton, NJ.
