WASHINGTON (AP) - Chris Monroe scored 20 of his career-high 35 points in the first half as George Washington beat LaSalle 99-75 Saturday.
Monroe made 12 of 16 shots from the field and had a team-high nine rebounds and four assists.

GW's guard-oriented offense offset the strong inside scoring of LaSalle (7-11, 1-6), which lost for the 10th time in 11 games. Victor Thomas, the top rebounder in the Atlantic 10, had 23 points and five rebounds for LaSalle. Rasual Buter added 17 and Donnie Carr had 15.
SirValiant Brown, who entered the game as the top scorer in the nation at 25.2 points per game, didn't start since he was late for a recent study hall, a school athletic spokesman said.
Brown entered the game early in the first half and ended up with 16 points and eight assists.
He played 33 minutes.
